De functie

Goal of the position

  • Responsibility for the brand and further development of the brand in the Benelux for all market segments/sales departments: Hotel & Food Service, B2B, Retail/Consumer, Education & Training department and both the Netherlands and Great Britain departments.
  • In coordination with Sales Management, Technical Management and the Board of Directors, preparing the marketing plan and budget (portfolio, packaging, pricing, positioning, communication mix, website and online sales, trade fairs, new product launches, education and training needs, etc.) in order to achieve future sales/margin growth.
  • The departmental objectives are achieved through inspiring and coordinating leadership. You are in charge of a supporting marketing assistant and those responsible for Education & Training.
  • You play a highly coordinating and supporting role in terms of brand monitoring and the uniformity of the brand.
  • Contribution to the overall strategic direction and EBITA results of the company by focusing on long-term profitable growth achieved through teamwork and entrepreneurship.


  • Analysing and interpreting portfolio performance to the gross margin level for all departments in coordination with the commercial managers
  • Taking the necessary actions to achieve the budget/keep costs under control
  • Project innovation projects based on current customer needs for products, by-products, publicity materials, equipment/machinery within the company’s strategic objectives
  • Implementing an innovation project process that contributes to improved efficiency and increased/accelerated customer acquisition (for example, a BOOST campaign)
  • Budget monitoring
  • Creating/implementing the communication mix for the various departments/markets
  • Brand management and monitoring based on brand guidelines
  • Taking corrective measures if required by the circumstances

Het profiel

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in Economics/Marketing or a related field
  • At least three years of experience in the food sector in a Business-to-Business/Hotel & Food Service and/or Retail environment
  • Knowledge of the food sector is preferred
  • Experience using the most common software: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of modern trade management techniques
  • Knowledge of or experience with online applications (Content Management Systems) is preferred
  • Knowledge of CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software for evaluating sales/marketing process support
  • Fluent in Dutch, French and English
  • Proven experience with managing multiple customer segments and developing and implementing adapted marketing plans for each segment
  • Proven communication competencies in complex multi-segment organisations, a motivator who makes an impact
  • Proven experience with converting marketing/sales opportunities into a long-term vision and strategic marketing/sales goals
  • Experience with the budgeting process and budget monitoring within an organisation
  • Proven strong analytical & synthetic capabilities
  • Managerial experience with coaching, leading, motivating and developing a team is an asset
